Christine M. Fecko

The IOLA Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the appointment of Christine M. Fecko as the new Executive Director of the IOLA Fund of the State of New York. Christine will begin her tenure on June 10, 2024, replacing outgoing Executive Director Christopher B. O'Malley.

For the past 12 years Christine has served as IOLA's General Counsel where she has demonstrated her profound commitment to IOLA's mission to improve the administration of justice for low-income New Yorkers by forging a strong partnership with IOLA's grantees, and other key members of the civil legal aid community.

Christine has served on the Technology Committee for the Permanent Commission on Access to Justice and played a vital role in the PCAJ's annual Technology Conference, as well as serving on numerous Bar Committees.

Christine's leadership has also been recognized on a national level as well, as she is current President of the National Association of IOLTA Programs("NAIP"), which consists of members from all 50 states, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and Canada.

Prior to IOLA Christine served as General Counsel and Chief Operating Officer of My Sister's Place, a domestic violence social services organization. Christine also brings to the position her experience as a litigation associate for leading New York City commercial law firms, and her time as a law clerk for a federal district judge.

The IOLA Board of Trustees is confident that the strong relationships Christine has created as General Counsel and her thorough knowledge of New York civil legal services, will make for a seamless transition, and will allow her to lead IOLA successfully as it proceeds with the Justice Infrastructure Project and seeks to improve access to justice for all New Yorkers.
